The Youth Apprenticeship Summer Program (YASP) is an exciting 7-week wage subsidy program designed to pair eligible employers with students in Grade 10 or Grade 11 who are eager to discover a career path and jumpstart their career in the skilled trades.
Students
During summer, you will spend 7 weeks gaining hands-on, practical experience directly from skilled professionals in their chosen trade. From working on real job sites to completing meaningful projects, you’ll learn by doing – and these hours are recognized as official apprenticeship hours. That means you are already on your way toward certification in your future trade.
No prior experience? No problem. This program is all about encouraging young people to give the trades a try.
