What is a Plan of Training (POT)
A Plan of Training details the full scope of learning for a trade in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is based on the occupational standard for the trade and developed with input from a Provincial Trade Advisory Committee (a team of industry and training experts from across the province that ensure curriculum reflects the skills and knowledge required). For Red Seal trades, the occupational standard is outlined in either the National Occupational Analysis (NOA) or the Red Seal Occupational Standard (RSOS).
What is an Atlantic Apprenticeship Curriculum Standard (AACS)
An Atlantic Apprenticeship Curriculum Standard (AACS) is a trade-specific training standard created through the Atlantic Apprenticeship Harmonization Project. An AACS is developed by an Atlantic trade advisory committee (a team of industry and training experts from across Atlantic Canada that ensure curriculum reflects the skills and knowledge required in each province). The AACS is a common standard across Atlantic provinces, which makes it easier for apprentices and skilled workers to move between jurisdictions.
