The Accessible Taxi and Busing Program is open for applications. Deadline: End of Day March 15, 2026.

The Department of Social Supports and Well-Being is inviting applications for the Accessible Taxi and Busing Program.

The Disability Policy Office is encouraging and facilitating an increase in accessible transportation in the province, particularly in rural areas as well as those who have an interest in providing cross provincial travel.

Program eligibility includes individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, Indigenous governments and organizations, municipalities, and local service districts.

These changes are meant to encourage more people, not just taxi operators, to apply for support and to help improve accessible transportation within and between communities across the province.

Grants will be provided to successful applicants to assist with costs of retrofitting a passenger vehicle to meet accessibility standards or to assist with the purchase of a new vehicle, which can accommodate passengers with mobility devices such as wheelchairs and scooters.

Selection will consider local demand and available funding.
