Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent intends to build an all terrain vehicle (ATV) trail from Tug Pond to Frost Pond, located on Southwest River in the Clarenville area, to facilitate year round access to six remote cabins. Included along the approximately 7-kilometre length will be one 25-metre length of log corduroy. Construction is planned for the winter-spring of 2004 and will take approximately 5 days to complete.

  • November 25, 2003 – The undertaking was registered.
  • January 1, 2004 – Public comments are due.
  • February 3, 2004 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
