Project Description:

The proponent plans to construct and operate an integrated sawmill on a 5.7 hectare site across from the Deer Lake Regional Airport, on the south side of the Trans Canada Highway on quarry lands. The proponent proposes to relocate the integrated sawmill in Cormack to Deer Lake and expansion of operations including addition of a dry kiln with a maximum capacity of 20,000,000 board feet of kiln-dried lumber per year. Construction is planned to start in May and be completed by August, 2004.

  • March 4, 2004 – The undertaking was registered.
  • April 14, 2004 – Public comments are due.
  • May 14, 2004 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
