Project Description:
The proponent proposes to harvest a total of approximately 15,970 cubic metres of mature timber, representing approximately 126.7 hectares, within two harvest areas near Red Indian Lake in central Newfoundland. The proposed harvest areas are outside the current District 12 five-year forest operating plan and include approximately 3.6 kilometres of new operational roads to be constructed. Harvesting is tentatively scheduled for summer/fall of 2004.
- July 13, 2004 – The undertaking was registered.
- August 18, 2004 – Public comments are due.
- August 27, 2004 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- September 10, 2004 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
