Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to upgrade an existing 45 kilometre trail for all terrain vehicle (ATV) use which is located immediately west of the Town of St. Lawrence on Route 220 opposite the Aliant telephone building. There will be a new access route to the trail which will then form a continuous loop. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin the fall of 2004, with completion in 2008.

• August 26, 2004 – The undertaking was registered.
• September 30, 2004 – Public comments are due.
• October 9, 2004 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 26, 2004 – The Minister announced the project has been released from further environmental assessment review.
