Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent plans to develop a solids composting facility in the Town of Stephenville , in the industrial zone near the airport. The undertaking will consist of 6 sludge holding treatment cells and one Kickuth Engineered Wetland Treatment Bed. The facility will primarily be used for the treatment of solids from the new Stephenville wastewater treatment facility. The facility will be operated by ABYDOZ Environmental Ltd. on behalf of the Town of Stephenville . The site will be approximately 400 metres by 50metres, with a parking and turning area.

• July 28, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
• September 2, 2005 – Public comments are due.
• September 29, 2005 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
