Project Description:
The proponent proposes to construct a 1,000 female (breeder) mink fur farm on Chapel Island to the north of the causeway over The Reach (from Boyd’s Cove), off Route 340. The mink fur farm is to be located on a seven hectare site accessed off an existing forestry road. Construction is planned to include three sheds/barns 100 metres by 12.5 metres for raising mink surrounded by perimeter fencing.
- September 30, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
- November 4, 2005 – Public comments are due.
- November 16, 2005 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
