Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) trail to a remote cottage on the western side of Eastern Arm Pond, near Rocky Harbour , in western Newfoundland . The trail would begin from an existing trail, and be approximately 900 metres long by 1.5 metres wide. Construction of the trail will be with hand tools and is planned for the Fall of 2006.

• April 7, 2006 – The undertaking was registered.
• May 15, 2006 – Public comments are due.
• May 19, 2006 – The Minister releases the project from further environmental assessment.
