Project Description:

The proposal is to construct a 155 metre rubble mound breakwater at Plate Cove West, off Route 235 on the Bonavista Peninsula. It will also increase berthing capacity for fishing vessels and allow an additional 60 metres of wharfage. No site blasting or dredging is proposed. Work is tentatively scheduled to commence April 1, 2010 and requires three to four months to complete.

  • January 26, 2010 – The undertaking was registered.
  • March 3, 2010 – Public comments are due.
  • March 12, 2010 – The Minister’s decision is due.
  • March 29, 2010 – The Minister released the undertaking.
