Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to construct and operate a 123 MW (Nominal)Combustion Turbine (CT) Generator at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station (HTGS)yard in Holyrood. The CT unit will be enclosed in a building structure approximately 56metres long by 31 metres wide by 11 metres high. The Project will also involve a generatorstep-up (GSU) transformer, the storage of 2.5 million litres of No. 2 diesel fuel, relatedoffloading and handling facilities, a demineralized water plant and storage as well asinterconnection to the existing HTGS. Another building section will enclose the demineralizedwater tanks, approximately 12 metres long by 11 metres high. The stackheight will be approximately 15 metres. The additional generation added by thisinfrastructure is intended to meet forecasted load requirements during high peak winterdemand periods prior to the completion of the Lower Churchill Project.
