Project Description:

Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Crafts Harbours Branch is proposing an enhancementto its existing facilities in Arnold’s Cove. The undertaking consists of the construction of arubblemound breakwater, approximately 160 metres in length by 45 metres in width. Thebreakwater will provide shelter to the existing wharf infrastructure from wave action andundertow. The area adjacent to the breakwater will be in-filled using material such as coreand filterstone to develop a laydown/service area. Construction is scheduled to commencein July, 2014.

• April 24, 2014 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 2, 2014 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 8, 2014 – The minister’s decision is due.
• June 24, 2014 – The minister announced that the project is released.
