Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal to develop 176 acres of Crown land for vegetable production. The area is located on a ridge above Dildo Pond about one mile in on Shipbuilders Pond Resource Road, between Campbellton and Loon Bay. Work will be carried out over a six-year period to develop approximately 25 to 30 acres each year. Operation will include seeding and the control of weeds, insects and disease.  Harvesting will occur in the fall. The project is scheduled to commence in spring 2018.

• September 18, 2017 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 24, 2017 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 2, 2017 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• November 16, 2017 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
