Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to construct a 58-kilometre resource access road to connect its Hope Brook mineral exploration property to the Burgeo Highway, Route 480. The stated purpose of the road is to allow for transportation of employees and materials for exploration activities in 2019 and beyond. The proposed road is not intended or designed to transport larger vehicles that would be required for any future mining development, but has the potential to be upgraded for that purpose if required.

• June 13, 2018 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 20, 2018 – Deadline for public comments.
• July 28, 2018 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
• August 28, 2018 – The Minister’s Decision is due (extended).
• September 14, 2018 – Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required.
• October 4, 2018 – Environmental Assessment Committee appointed.
• December 5, 2018 – Draft EIS Guidelines for Public Review.
• July 19, 2019 – EIS Guidelines on hold pending notification from proponent.
