Project Description:

The proponent is proposing the development of a bio-processing plant that converts non-food grade fish protein into agricultural fertilizer, at an existing 161.8-hectare farm located at 374 Bauline Line Extension, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s. Construction activities include upgrading the interior and exterior of an existing barn, constructing a utilities shed, landscaping to support truck turnarounds and loading/offloading zones, and installing office and lab space.

• October 14, 2021 – The undertaking was registered.
• November 18, 2021 – Deadline for public comments.
• November 28, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• December 12, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• January 14, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• January 24, 2022 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
• May 19, 2022 –  The Minister announced Plans Approved.
