Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to develop a 5.5 hectare quarry adjacent to Victoria River, located approximately 50 kilometres southwest of the Town of Buchans, and, approximately 7 kilometres northeast of Victoria Lake.  Sand and gravel would be sources from the quarry for the purpose of aggregate production in Central Newfoundland.

• December 20, 2022 – The undertaking was registered.
• January 26, 2023 – Deadline for public comments.
• February 3, 2023 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• February 1, 2023 – Environmental Preview Report (EPR) required.
• February 1, 2023 – Environmental Assessment Committee (EAC) appointed.
• April 2, 2023 – EPR Guidelines due to be issued.
• March 29, 2023 – EPR Guidelines issued.
