Project Description:

The Proponent is proposing to construct and operate a 16.5-hectare sand and gravel quarry located in Conception Bay South, approximately 580 metres southeast of the Peacekeepers Way, off Route 60. The quarry will be used to produce aggregate materials (sand and gravel) for use and sale in construction projects across the province. Access to the site will be via a 260-metre access road from Ryan’s Road.

• March 6, 2024 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 11, 2024 – Deadline for public comments.
• April 20, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• May 3, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• May 17, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• May 17, 2024 – The Minister determined that the Project is released.
• June 12, 2025 – The Minister has accepted the Water Resources Management Plan and the Complaint Resolution Plan.
