Project Description:

The Proponent is proposing to construct and operate a 10.8-hectare quarry off Route 301 within the Town of Terra Nova. Development would consist of land clearing and grubbing, followed by the extraction and processing of sand and gravel via crushing and screening. The purpose of the quarry is to supply materials for asphalt production needed to meet increased demand in the Clarenville area.

• June 13, 2024 – The undertaking was registered.
• July 19, 2024 – Deadline for public comments.
• July 28, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 4, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• August 1, 2024 – The Minister determined the Project is released.
