Project Description:
The Proponent is proposing to construct and operate on the Burin Peninsula: a 10 gigawatt (GW) onshore wind project consisting of three wind farms with up to 1500-turbines; three solar farms with a total of total capacity of 2.5 GW; and a 5.5 GW hydrogen/ammonia production facility north of the Town of Marystown.
- September 11, 2024 – The undertaking was registered.
- October 16, 2024 – Deadline for public comments.
- October 26, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- October 25, 2024 – The Minister determined that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required.
- October 25, 2024 – Environmental Assessment Committee (EAC) appointed.
- January 17, 2025 – Draft EIS Guidelines for public review.
- February 26, 2025 – Deadline for public comments on Draft EIS Guidelines.
- March 7, 2025 – Approved EIS Guidelines issued.
