Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to install 150 megawatts (MW) of combustion turbine generation on their property located adjacent to the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station to provide a source of peaking support and backup generation. The project would involve the construction of a multi-unit combustion turbine power generating facility, including: a tank farm, powerhouse, terminal station, construction laydown areas and related infrastructure on an 11.8-hectare site.
- April 4, 2025 – The undertaking was registered.
- May 9, 2025 – Deadline for public comment.
- May 19, 2025 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- June 2, 2025 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
- May 30, 2025 – The Minister determined that the project is released.
- October 1, 2025 – The Minister has accepted the Water Resources Management Plan (Early Works).
