Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to upgrade the existing Point Rousse Marine Terminal on the Baie Verte Peninsula. The project would involve the construction of a second berth to increase export capacity for crushed aggregate and armourstone from nearby quarry operations. Future operations at the port may include shipping mining concentrates from third party operations. Construction and new infrastructure would include a port access road, storage/laydown areas, shoreline infilling, armourstone protection, two rock filled access causeways, a dock structure, and a barge.
- December 12, 2025 – The undertaking was registered.
- January 16, 2026 – Deadline for public comments.
- January 26, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- January 21, 2026 – The Minister determined the project is released.
