Project Description:

The Proponent is proposing to establish and operate a concrete batch plant in their existing quarry location within the City of St. John’s. The batch plant would be installed within the quarry’s 5.0-hectare boundary and would produce an anticipated 5000 cubic metres of concrete annually. Construction would include levelling the site and the installation of a leveling pad for the batch plant footings. Produced concrete would be sold to construction companies and residents of the Avalon and surrounding areas to be used in highway and residential construction.

• August 30, 2024 – The undertaking was registered.
• October 4, 2024 – Deadline for public comments.
• October 14, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 9, 2024 – The Minister determined that the Project is released.
