Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to construct two breakwaters to protect critical road, water and sewer infrastructure from storm surges and future erosion. Construction will consist of armour stone placement using an excavator. The two proposed breakwater structures will be approximately 350 metres total length, two to three metres wide with the base spanning upwards of 20-25 metres.
- April 22, 2025 – The undertaking was registered.
- May 27, 2025 – Deadline for public comments.
- June 6, 2025 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- June 4, 2025 – The Minister determined that the project is released.
