Pre-Kindergarten locations are opening in phases throughout the province and will result in the creation of over 3,000 regulated child care spaces in communities throughout the province by March 31, 2026.
The Pre-Kindergarten Program runs full-time, including during the summer months. As a regulated full-day early learning program under the Operating Grant Program, families will pay $10 per day for pre-kindergarten programming in the province.
YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador was chosen as the not-for-profit operator for the first and second phases of the program through an RFP process. To learn more about YMCA NL pre-kindergarten programming, visit the YMCA NL website.
