Bottom: When Iapetus closed, giant slabs of the old ocean floor and slope deposits were transported westward across the old continental margin. This sketch is a schematic diagram of North Arm Mountain showing ocean floor and slope rocks sitting on carbonates of the margin. The quality of this cross-section will be improved shortly.
