Many parts of a Northern Peninsula community were flooded after a brook in the community overflowed Monday. Eddies Cove West is on the west side of the peninsula, near Port au Choix. Resident Kathy Lawless said the community’s culverts couldn’t handle both the spring run-off and Sunday’s rainfall.

“It’s over-flowing onto people’s lawns. They have their basements being flooded, the road is being washed away. It’s quite the sight,” she said.

Lawless said about 90 per cent of the community has been affected. Part of the highway through Eddies Cove West was also flooded.
