March 31: A landslide blocked the Trans-Canada Highway between Gallants and George’s Lake.

Port aux Basques resident Bill Ramsay says a 70-metre section of the highway was blocked during the afternoon, but it doesn’t appear any vehicles were hit.

April 1: The Trans-Canada Highway, which was blocked by a landslide between Gallants and George’s Lake, was reduced to one lane Tuesday morning.

This event occurred after the same storm that caused flooding in Corner Brook and Cox’s Cove.
