Clean Technology and Environmental Industries

The clean technology sector represents a diverse range of solutions intended to reduce or eliminate negative ecological impacts while at the same time improving the productive and responsible use of natural resources.  Clean technology refers to products, processes and services that improve on environmental performance.  The use of clean technology can mean improving efficiency, mitigating the environmental risks of business activity, or reducing wastes (e.g., physical waste, energy waste, emissions waste, etc.).

Newfoundland and Labrador’s economy has transitioned into a dynamic, modern and greener economy.  The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador recognizes the importance of environmental stewardship and is actively exploring clean technology initiatives that support Newfoundland and Labrador businesses in the local, national and international green economies.

The clean technology sector is a vital part of the global effort to create a sustainable future. By developing and deploying technologies that address environmental challenges, this sector not only helps protect the planet but also drives economic growth and improves quality of life. Through innovation, investment, and collaboration, clean technology continues to evolve, offering new solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing our world today.
