For more than 33 years, Betty Andrews has provided exemplary service to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and to all visitors and guests at Government House. She stands as a shining example of the dedication of public service employees in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Betty’s display of teamwork and leadership has always garnered a special respect and admiration from her co-workers. It is not unusual to witness her helping new staff members by giving assistance and/or advice on the day-to-day operations of the house. When you meet Betty, you can receive a true education on the history of service at Government House from the early years to present day. She grips your attention with her captivating and awe-inspiring stories.

Without a doubt, her pleasant disposition and demeanor contribute to the professional service she provides to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, tourists and dignitaries. She considers it a distinct pleasure, and honour, to have served various members of the Royal Family, government officials, world dignitaries, religious leaders and the like. Those around her consider it a distinct pleasure to have her as a co-worker and friend.

It is obvious her ability to perform her duties, her kindness, warmth and genuine care have left a lasting impression on those who visit Government House and are a true testament of the commitment of those who serve the public.
