Community Accounts has been acclaimed across Canada as a comprehensive tool for providing extensive data on Newfoundland and Labrador communities. Through an excellent example of collaboration and partnerships this team worked with many different sectors putting this major initiative at the forefront of community research.
Since 1998, the team has completed an extraordinary amount of work, compiling provincial, regional and community information, to create tens of thousands of tables, graphics and analysis tools - all of which is available on the Community Accounts Web site. This team also provides online and telephone support, as well as training. Their commitment to sharing information and expertise is tremendous.
Most notably the Community Accounts was produced without benefit of an existing model. Through the team members’ dedication, talent and outstanding work habits they developed an innovative product unique to this province. A product of significance not only to the public service but to the province as a whole.
