Kay Riggs has worked as an Economic Development Officer for some 10 years. Based in Marystown, Kay works tirelessly on behalf of the many client groups, businesses, and individuals of the Burin peninsula. Her commitment is extraordinary and her dedication second to none. Often working evenings and weekends, she travels tirelessly throughout the large geographic area she serves, building valuable partnerships to support volunteer bodies and to develop the region’s economy.
Kay brings good counsel and strong capability to every project, and that creates a chain reaction of motivation and energy. Her contribution is valued by everyone she works with, and her opinion is sought by stakeholders on every project. She is a team player and a team builder, drawing out the skills and best efforts of partners.
For Kay, an obstacle is an opportunity to explore another direction and a challenge is an opportunity for growth. Despite her many skills and talents, she continuously pursues education and training for professional development. Kay’s optimism inspires everyone and her "can-do" approach makes her invaluable as a role model and mentor for co-workers and clients.
