As the Manager of Butterpot Park, Newfoundland and Labrador’s busiest provincial park, as well as the caretaker of six reserves and a section of T’Railway, Keith Brown is known for his tireless commitment to our province’s natural heritage.

Keith gives a new meaning to the term multi-task, embracing each aspect of his position with absolute commitment and enthusiasm.

When we speak of excellence in service delivery, we need look no further than Keith’s provision of service to the tens of thousands of Butterpot campers, visitors and skiers each year. He is known for his consistently highquality of service to his clients which is evident in the park occupancy rates
which have climbed steadily under his management to 104% in 2004.

In 2001 Keith’s exemplary qualities resulted in his being awarded the George Chafe Award which recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the provincial park system. Because of his exceptional competency, park users and co-workers feel an extreme confidence in his areas of responsibility.

Keith has an uncommon passion for his work and has been part of the provincial parks system for 30 years. When asked about his work, he says he has found his niche. The message that clearly resounds regarding Keith Brown is that it doesn’t matter what time he is called upon to respond to an issue, he goes willingly and delivers service beyond what is expected of him.

As a public servant Keith is a role model. He loves his work, demonstrates a winning attitude, inspires others and delivers the highest standard of service to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
