Office of the Chief Information Officer
Stephen Noel began his career with the public service in 1984 and, since then, has consistently provided the highest standard of service delivery in his field of Information Technology. Most notable is his contribution above and beyond the scope of his regular employment duties during the 2005 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) convention. A convention which saw 2,000 delegates from across the country visit this province.
Currently a Local Area Network (LAN) Administrator with the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Steve was based in the Department of Municipal Affairs at the time of the FCM convention. He contributed his IT knowledge and skills to planning, setting up and maintaining the FCM technical systems for their convention; providing two Secretariat Offices, a Media Room, 350 Expo Booths, an Internet Café, a Trade Show, a Help Desk and various other convention features. From the initial planning stages, through the eventual take-down and clean up process, Steve was the “go to” person.
Steve is known for the vision, commitment and relentless ingenuity he demonstrates in a complicated IT environment on a daily basis. He understands that quality IT support reflects on the public service and the province as a whole. He has taken the initiative to kick-start numerous projects and ideas, and has provided many innovative strategies which make operations easier and more efficient.
Steve embodies public service ideals. His exemplary record of performance and leadership has inspired others to high performance and has resulted in extraordinary delivery of services. His work ethic, personal character and ability to interact effectively with co-workers result in his ability to perform at a level that provides exceptional value to the province.
