Todd Kent had a vision for Labrador. That vision resulted in a large economic impact on the region and is drawing national and international attention to Labrador as a snowmobile destination for travellers. Todd is the ambitious mind and creative talent behind Cain’s Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race – a 2,500 km back country snowmobile race through Labrador’s remote wilderness. However, the limits of Todd’s imagination stretch well beyond the expansive 2,500 km distance involved in snowmobile racing from Labrador City to Nain and back. Through his work and personal interest, Todd took the lead on the development, implementation and marketing for Cain’s Quest.

When conceiving ideas he not only thinks outside the box but outside boundaries and borders. Cain’s Quest race attracts participants from other Canadian provinces and a significant portion of the racers hail from the United States. As a leader, Todd saw the need for strong sponsorship for this race and was successful in securing the White Wolf Snowmobile Club’s support.

He has put his leadership skills to the test by acquiring the proper commitment from the private and public sectors in promoting and executing an event on such a grand scale as Cain’s Quest. Todd jumped at the chance to involve international and national media to be part of the race. This media participation resulted in international exposure through newspaper articles, magazines and television shows.

Todd has harnessed his natural ability to develop relationships and partnerships for the further growth and development of Labrador tourism. That is a testament to Todd’s dedication to his job and his home.
