HR Advisory Services Division

The HR Advisory Services Division serves as the main point of contact for the executive, directors and managers to advance departmental HR management issues and strategies. The Division provides advice, support and works with executives in responding to highly confidential and sensitive human resource issues which require attention at the most senior levels of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Division provides support for:

  • Labour and Employment Relations. Services include: education and coaching to management with respect to labour and employment relations best practices; promotion of a proactive perspective to problem solving and conflict resolution within the public service; assist in employee performance management, including probationary review; advice regarding collective agreement and policy interpretation; grievance management; workplace and harassment investigations; and disciplinary procedures.
  • Integrated Disability Management. Services include: facilitation of early intervention, case management and return to work plans for sick leave/injury on duty leave (WorkplaceNL) and disability related matters; advice, support and guidance as it relates to suitable workplace accommodations due to medical/wellness issues; and to coach and work with employees and managers to address medical related attendance and/or performance issues.
