The Ecosystem Management Division is responsible for forest ecosystem management through the department’s silviculture, forest inventory and forest management programs.
Services
- Develops and evaluates the province’s forest management plans, wood supply analysis, silviculture operations including applied research, machinery trails and the development of criteria and indicators for sustainable management of our forest resources.
- Reviews operating plans for both Crown and industry limits.
- Calculates the annual land tax which is charged to the pulp and paper companies in the province.
