Q: How do I submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)?
A: EOIs are submitted on the Immigration Accelerator. Once a candidate has created an account, they have the ability to start, and submit, an EOI.
Q: I am an individual hoping to pursue NLPNP or AIP as an economic immigration pathway, what is my role in the Expression of Interest Model?
A: Any individuals wishing to pursue NLPNP or AIP will need to submit an EOI as the first step in this process. Individuals will need to have a job or job offer from an employer in the province. EOIs submitted without such a job offer identified in their EOI will not be considered for an Invitation to Apply (ITA). If your EOI aligns with the labor market needs and ongoing interests of the province, you may be issued an ITA, at which point you can proceed with submitting your full application for NLPNP, or having your Designated Employer submit your full AIP application on your behalf.
Q: I am an Employer, what is my role in the Expression of Interest Model?
A: Employers are not required to submit EOIs on behalf of their employees/interested candidates. EOIs are only to be submitted by the candidate themselves. However, most candidates will require their employer to provide them an employer invite code before they can submit their EOI. Employer invite codes are required, to validate the job offer and ensure that Designation/JVA spaces are used properly for applicants.
To determine if you need to send a candidate an employer invite code from your JVA/Designation, please use the table below for reference:

Q: I’m unsure if I need an invitation code from my employer, how do I know when I need to use an employer invitation code, as it is not a mandatory field on the EOI form?
A: NLPNP applicants, who have valid status (work permit or visitor record) in Canada do not need to use invite codes from their employer. NLPNP applicants that require JVA spaces, as well as ALL AIP applicants, are required to include an employer invite code in their EOI.
If an AIP applicant, or an NLPNP applicant applying from outside of Canada, submits an EOI without the required code, the EOI is invalid and will not be reviewed during ITA selection.
Q: I submitted my Expression of Interest, what happens next?
A: Once an EOI is submitted, it remains valid in our system for 12 months after submission. If your EOI is selected for an ITA, you, or your designated employer, will be notified via email.
Q: I need to change some information on my Expression of Interest, what do I do?
A: EOIs can be edited at any point. If you need to update the information on your EOI, please log on to your account, on the Immigration Accelerator and select “Edit”. Proceed to change the information and hit “Save” when you are finished. This will update your EOI in our system.
Q: I submitted my EOI many months ago and haven’t received an update, why is that?
A: EOIs remain valid in our system for 12 months after submission. You can receive an ITA at any point during those 12 months, or not at all. Between the point of EOI submission and an ITA, there is no update to be provided by our office, Applicants will only receive an update on their EOI if they are issued an ITA, or if their EOI expires.
Q: Does receiving an ITA guarantee my full AIP/NLPNP application will be approved?
A: No. An ITA indicates that the province is interested in reviewing your full application, in more detail. Applicants will still need to meet all program requirements, and abide by all provincial policies, in order for their applications to be fully approved. Even if an applicant receives an ITA, their full application may still be closed or refused at any point, if they do not meet program requirements.
Q: How will I know if I received an Invitation to Apply (ITA)?
A: NLPNP candidates will receive an e-mail alerting them of the ITA. The candidate will then be able to start and submit a full NLPNP application from their account on the Immigration Accelerator. In AIP, Designated Employer’s will receive an email alerting them of the ITA and the employer will receive an ITA confirmation letter via the Immigration Accelerator.
Q: The status of my EOI has changed to “Approved” on the Immigration Accelerator, why haven’t I been contacted directly yet?
A: When an applicant receives an ITA, the status of their EOI is set to “Approved” on the Immigration Accelerator. NLPNP applicants will directly receive an email alerting them of this. For AIP, Applicants are not emailed directly. Instead, their designated employer receives notice of the ITA via email and on the Immigration Accelerator, under the “Messages” tab in the top right corner of the home page. If you are an AIP Applicant and your EOI’s status changes to “Approved”, you are advised to touch base with your employer to confirm your ITA.
Q:I am a Designated Employer and my AIP applicant has received an ITA, what are my next steps?
A: When an AIP Applicant receives an ITA, the designated employer can start an Endorsement Application for them on the Immigration Accelerator. Only Applicants that have received an ITA, will appear on the “Select Employee Name” drop-down menu in Section C of the Endorsement Application. Employers can select the employee’s name and proceed with completing, and submitting, their Endorsement Application. If you do not see a person’s name on the drop-down menu, it means that the individual has not yet been invited to apply and an Endorsement Application can not yet be submitted for them.
