The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) helps employers in Atlantic Canada hire qualified candidates for a job when they are unable to hire locals for that position. The AIP is open to individuals in Canada on a valid work permit, and individuals that are outside Canada at the time of application. Every candidate must have a job or job offer from a designated employer established and operating in Newfoundland and Labrador. If you’re in Canada, you must have valid immigration status and at least four months left on your permit before you apply.

If the candidate becomes endorsed by Newfoundland and Labrador under the AIP, the candidate and their immediate family (i.e. spouse and children) are eligible to apply for their permanent residence to Canada.
