Unemployed or looking to make a change?

Employment Centres can show you new paths and help you access funding to make it a reality. Maybe you’re interested in an opportunity to earn while you learn? Trades are in-demand and we can help you get there. Learn more about apprenticeships. If you’re considering going back to school but don’t think it’s possible, the Working Opportunities Program may help. Don’t know what programs or services that will help? We can help find what will work best for you.

The first step to receiving any financial assistance is the development of an Employment Plan. You must allow enough time to work through this process – depending on your needs and the time of year, it is recommended that you approach the department at least four weeks prior to wanting to undertake a program.

Your Employment Plan will assist you in finding employment, or becoming more employable by:

  • Taking into consideration your needs, skills, knowledge, abilities, and present circumstances;
  • Identifying specific activities and timeframes to assist you towards independence;
  • Assisting to identify any barriers you may have to immediate employment;
  • Referring you to appropriate programs and services; and
  • Setting mandatory reviews to ensure you achieve the conditions and activities outlined in your Employment Plan.

Anyone who does not enter into an Employment Plan, or who does not comply with its conditions, is not eligible for financial assistance.

An Employment Plan can help you with supports for:
