Helping You Get Recognized for Your Skills—Whether You Studied in Canada or Abroad
If you are a professional trained in Canada or another country, the Fair Registration Practices Office is here to help you understand how your credentials can be recognized in Newfoundland and Labrador.
We are here to make things easier for you. Our team works closely with regulatory bodies responsible for regulated professions in Newfoundland and Labrador. Together, we aim to remove barriers and make sure the process of recognizing your credentials is transparent, timely, and fair.
What We Do
- We implement the Fair Registration Practices Act. This Act helps ensure fair treatment for people applying to work in regulated professions.
- We work with regulatory bodies to help remove barriers for people educated in Canada or internationally.
- We provide information and support to help skilled workers understand the steps to get licensed or certified.
- We review how regulatory bodies assess applications and suggest improvements when needed.
- We are your go-to source for questions about foreign credential recognition and related policies.
What We Don’t Do
While we are here to support you, there are some things we do not handle directly:
- We do not make decisions about your registration.
- We do not take part in appeals or internal reviews.
- We do not assess your qualifications.
