Description
Pre-employment Supports provide eligible clients with support to participate in preemployment training that may include personal life skills development, career planning or employment readiness.
Training may include a combination of in-class and on-the-job segments.
Eligible Participants
All applicants must:
- Be a resident of the province
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident entitled to work in Canada
- Participate in Case Managed Services of assessment and employment planning
- Have an active employment plan that assists in the achievement of the client’s employment goal prior to supports being issued
- Have completed a Client Consent Form for the exchange and release of information
Participants may be unemployed individuals or employed low-skilled individuals. This includes individuals in receipt of Income Support.
Eligible Benefits
Benefits provided must support identified challenges to work force attachment and assist in the development of the individual’s Employment Plan.
Available supports may include:
- Child Care and Dependent Care
- Transportation
- Equipment (e.g., clothing or safety course related, includes items for a non-paid work placement)
- Start-up allowance
- Stipends
- Tuition, Books, and Course Related Fees/Costs (e.g., student/medical)
