Justice and Public Safety Crime Dashboard

The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador is policed by two police services: the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The 44 police detachments in the province report crime data to the Canadian Center of Justice Statistics (CCJS). This data has been used to develop a Newfoundland and Labrador Crime Dashboard to present data and contextual information to help fulfill the public’s right to understand what has been happening in their communities.

The interactive dashboard provides an overview of police-reported crime in NL police detachments. Users can navigate the dashboard to get an overview of several crime statistics, including crime rate, number of actual incidents and Crime Severity Index.
