Change of Name

You have 10 days to let Motor Registration Division know that you have changed your name.

Change of Name

If you need to change your name on your driver’s licence/photo ID your record needs to be updated in-person at a Motor Registration Division office. Please book an appointment. Proof of name change is required and documents must be original.

Accepted documents:

  1. Government issued Marriage Certificate
  2. Official name change document
  3. Birth Certificate
  4. Official Court document

Once your name is changed in the Motor Registration Division system, a new driver’s licence/photo ID card will be mailed to you. This should take about 10 business days.
