The Office of Employment Equity for Persons with Disabilities operates employment programs and career development services designed to assist persons with disabilities attain employment in provincial government departments.
To be eligible to access these programs and services, you must self-identify as a person with a disability, with barriers to employment as defined below: (The Office’s definitions are in alignment with the Accessibility Act NL)
- Disabilities may include a physical, mental, intellectual, cognitive, learning, communication or sensory impairment or a functional limitation.
- Barriers means anything that prevents a person with a disability from fully participating in society, including: physical, architectural, information or communication, attitudinal, technological or barriers established or perpetuated by an Act, regulations, a policy or practice.
