The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED:

Forest Management District 14 (Zone 6) Amendment                     (Reg. 2121)
Proponent: Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture

The project was released subject to the following conditions:

  • The proponent is required to uphold all commitments made in the environmental assessment submission to mitigate the effects of the project on the environment.
  • Commitments made in the environmental assessment registration document for EA Reg. # 1984, Crown Zone 6 Five-year Forestry Operating Plan (2019—2023), apply to this project as do the conditions of release of EA # 1984 from further environmental assessment in the Minister’s letter of January 15, 2019.
  • The proponent is required to advise the Environmental Assessment Division when each of the conditions of release has been met, by emailing a written description, documents, and images (where applicable) to demonstrate that the conditions have been fulfilled to EAProjectComments@gov.nl.ca.
  • The proponent is required to update the Environmental Assessment Division on the status of the project, including a copy of all permits, licences, certificates, approvals and other authorizations required for the project, within one year from the date of this release letter and to provide additional updates, if requested. Please email project updates to EAProjectComments@gov.nl.ca.

Pinware River Cabin                                                                           (Reg. 2130)
Proponent: Anthony and Vera O’Brien

The project is released subject to the following conditions:

  • The proponent is required to uphold all commitments made in the environmental assessment submission to mitigate the effects of the project on the environment.
  • The proponent is required to advise the Environmental Assessment Division when the conditions of release have been met.
  • The proponent is required to update the Environmental Assessment Division on the status of the project, including a copy of all permits, licenses, certificates, approvals and other authorizations required for the project, one year from the date of this release letter and to provide additional updates if requested.

Forest Management District 13 (Zone 5) Amendment                     (Reg. 2131)
Proponent: Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture

The project was released subject to the following conditions:

  • The proponent is required to uphold all commitments made in the environmental assessment submission to mitigate the effects of the project on the environment.
  • Commitments made in the environmental assessment registration document for EA Reg. #2108, Crown Zone 5 Five-year Operating Plan (2021—2025), apply to this project as do the conditions of release of EA # 2108 from further environmental assessment in the Minister’s letter of March 11, 2021.

  • The proponent is required to advise the Environmental Assessment Division when the conditions of release have been met.
  • The proponent is required to update the Environmental Assessment Division on the status of the project, including a copy of all permits, licenses, certificates, approvals and other authorizations required for the project, one year from the date of this release letter and to provide additional updates if requested.

Proponent: Andrew and Gail Rowsell

The project is released subject to the following conditions:

  • The proponent is required to uphold all commitments made in the environmental assessment submission to mitigate the effects of the project on the environment.
  • The proponent is required to advise the Environmental Assessment Division when the conditions of release have been met.
  • The proponent is required to update the Environmental Assessment Division on the status of the project, including a copy of all permits, licenses, certificates, approvals and other authorizations required for the project, one year from the date of this release letter and to provide additional updates if requested.
