The Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today announced the appointment of Dan MacKenzie as Deputy Clerk of the Executive Council and Associate Secretary to Cabinet.
Mr. Mackenzie has worked for the Provincial Government for over 20 years in a number of roles, most recently as Assistant Deputy Minister with the Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat. A complete bio can be found in the backgrounder below.
This appointment is effective immediately.

BACKGROUNDER
Biographical Information for Dan MacKenzie
Dan MacKenzie has served in the Provincial Government for over 20 years in progressively responsible policy roles. Since 2014, he has worked with the Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat as both Director of Intergovernmental Policy and most recently as Assistant Deputy Minister. He has also served in senior policy positions in the former Department of Environment and Conservation, the Labour Relations Agency and Cabinet Secretariat.
Mr. MacKenzie has a Bachelor of Arts (History) from McGill University, a Master of Arts (History) from Memorial University, and has been selected as a member of the 2020 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference.
