April 28, 2021

Forestry operations are currently taking place near Happy Valley-Goose Bay at locations near the Trans Labrador Highway between Lower Brook and Pinus River. This work is expected to continue until June 30. Members of the public should be aware of heavy equipment and trucks when travelling in this area, and exercise caution.

JP Forestry and Environmental Inc. is upgrading access to the Muskrat Falls wood storage yards, where timber processing operations will be taking place. The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture has issued the company a timber harvesting permit to process salvaged timber cut during the construction of the Muskrat Falls project, which is being stored at several wood storage yards in the area.

Questions regarding planned forestry operations should be directed to the company at 709-632-1235.
