National discussions on the Next Policy Framework to support growth, sustainability and innovation in the agriculture and agri-food sectors, and succeed the Canadian Agricultural Partnership are underway. The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is encouraging industry stakeholders to visit engageNL to provide input on priorities and policy direction for the framework for Newfoundland and Labrador.
This engagement process will inform government to help develop the Ministerial Policy Statement for the National Policy Framework to establish a vision, and outline priorities and objectives to support growth, sustainability and innovation in the agriculture and agri-food sector. The deadline to submit feedback is September 24, 2021.

The Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a $3-billion, five-year investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to support Canada’s agriculture and agrifoods sector, with $37 million committed over five years to the Newfoundland and Labrador agriculture and agri-food industry on a cost-shared basis. The program expires in 2023.
