The Honourable Derrick Bragg, Minister of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, will host a virtual Town Hall to give the public an opportunity to provide input into the development of a new Moose Management Plan for Newfoundland and Labrador.
The event will take place Wednesday, November 17 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. via Webex. Anyone wishing to participate must pre-register by email at MooseTownHall@gov.nl.ca.
Individuals and groups will be encouraged to provide feedback on a variety of moose and wildlife management issues during the live Town Hall meeting.
Each year just over 92,000 applications are received for big game licences making moose hunting one the most popular and shared recreational pursuits for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
In addition to the virtual Town Hall, the public can provide input on the development of the Moose Management Plan by completing an online questionnaire at engageNL. The deadline to respond to the questionnaire is Friday, November 19, 2021.
Quote
“I look forward to the opportunity to speak directly with hunters and others with an interest in the management of our valuable moose and other wildlife resources. I am confident the feedback received through our open public engagement process will result in a responsible and sustainable new Moose Management Plan for the province.”
